🐿️ Ink & Acorns (October 2026) - Ebook Sale! Black Friday! Local Events! 🐿️

"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."
- Anne Shirley, Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery

October is on the way out, but we have finally reached the cozy, patio-sitting season here in Kansas. Whatever your weather is doing in your neck of the woods, I hope it's equally cozy and comfy and you have a giant cup of tea you're drinking.

It's been a massively busy couple of weeks, and along the way I decided to reduce the frequency of these emails. So, you haven't missed anything! Ink & Acorns should land in your inbox every other month, and then its companion over on Substack will drop on the alternating months.

The Nutshell

(tl;dr)

A book on sale this week and more books on sale for Black Friday. A brief project update, an update to my event schedule, and a funny reminder about where our focus ought to be.

🐿️Book News and Updates

If you have been waiting for a sale on the Destiny Trilogy ebooks, your time has come! NAMELESS will be $2.99 on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other ebook retailers from October 25-October 29.

Please do remember that Nameless and the Destiny Trilogy is part of my "adult" series, in that it does have some intense situations and mature content. Nothing gratuitous, of course, but it's really not intended for readers under 16.

Also, if you're looking for other great sci-fi titles, check out the rest of the free and discounted ebooks through IASFA!

Golden Girls in Space

No news is good news on the "Space Grannies" front. I heard back from one agent and managed to submit to a few more.

Currently Writing

In spite of being super sick for the last few weeks, I have managed to keep getting some words written. The revised version of the Meg Mitchell Book has hit 37,000 words, and it's still going. I began developing Part 2 this week as well, and I'm really excited to get to share it as soon as I can.

I also managed to get my flash fiction entry to Havok submitted for their "First Love" prompt. I'm calling it "Just a Little Grease" and it's a really cute, sweet YA story (under 1,000 words of course). I'm eager to hear if it's going to get into Havok's February lineup. In the meantime, I'm developing my entry that's due on November 13 for their "Fortuitous" prompt.
